Empowering women living with ovarian cancer

On the Ball has been working with and donating time to Ovarian Cancer Australia for over 20 years, and has project-managed, researched and written two editions of Resilience — a support kit for women diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

Developed in close partnership with a team of cancer care experts and with women who have lived with ovarian cancer, women and their families say that the kit is one of the most valuable support resources provided by Ovarian Cancer Australia, helping them to feel reassured, supported and informed.

Demonstrating leadership with a bold new website

The Leaders Institute is a not-for-profit organisation that develops future leaders for South Australia.

Working with management and web developer, Star Solutions, On the Ball wrote the Institute's new website content to successfully drive search engine optimisation, reader engagement and course enrolments.

leadersinstitute.com.au now tells the organisation's unique story of holistic leadership development and the impact this can have on individuals, organisations and whole communities.

A watershed moment in Australia's healthcare history

In 2016, the Australian Government made a world-first decision to invest over $1 billion in subsidising cures for hepatitis C through the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), with the aim of creating equitable access to new direct-acting antiviral drugs and eliminating the disease.

On the Ball worked with a leading pharmaceutical company to write the healthcare and consumer media campaign materials for this watershed announcement — one which has forever changed the landscape of Australian healthcare.

Creating Fleurieu recipes that sing with flavour

Faces & Food of the Fleurieu is a coffee table and recipe book showcasing the stories and recipes of artisan producers, cafes, restaurants and wineries on South Australia's beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula.

Andrea and daughter, Taylor Peplow Ball, worked with the book's contributors and a group of recipe testers to edit all recipes in the book, ensuring that the ingredients are accessible, the instructions are easy to follow, the recipes work, and the results are a joy to eat!

The first print run of the highly-successful publication sold out and the book is now in reprint!

Supporting expectant and new parents with trusted information

Despite the huge amount of pregnancy and parenting information available, research indicates that there are still significant gaps in universal resources that parents can depend on.

To help address this need, On the Ball led an 18-month community consultation, writing and editing project to develop Growing Together, a handbook and app for Victorian parents.

The project involved facilitating focus groups with a diverse range of expectant and new parents across the state and then developing content written in Plain English to fill information and support gaps.

Speaking the unique language of skincare customers

JOMILA skincare was developed by a pharmacist over 40 years' ago for a niche market of customers with specific skin problems.

The brand wanted to launch into a wider market and worked with retail consultancy, Haeday, and On the Ball to workshop their unique selling proposition and then develop a solid retail and communications strategy that spoke to their customers' needs.

The brand's new positioning, 'Trusted formulas that simply work' captures the history, simplicity and integrity of the brand and resonates with customers old and new.
